Privacy Policy
This policy covers our two apps — NXT (the workout tracker for individuals) and NXT Coach (for coaches and personal trainers) — together with our website, joinnxt.app. We refer to them together as the “apps” (“we”, “our”, “us”). We collect as little as possible; this explains what each app does with your data.
Data stored on your device
In the NXT app, your workout content — templates, exercises, logged sets, workout history and settings — is stored locally on your device. If you never sign in, it stays there and is never sent to us. You can erase it any time from Settings → Reset local data, or by deleting the app.
Accounts
Creating an account is optional for solo use. You only need one if you train with a coach, or to use NXT Coach. We use Supabase (our backend provider) to store your email address and the profile details you choose to give — such as your name and country — along with your access status (a lifetime purchase, or access granted by a coach). To delete your account and its associated data, email us at the address below.
Workout data sync
When you are signed in, your completed workouts are synced to our backend so they are available to you across devices and, if you train with one, to your coach. This includes the exercises you did, your sets, and their values (weight, reps, time, distance and similar), along with workout dates and durations. If you do not sign in, nothing is synced. Deleting your account removes this synced data.
Your coach
If you connect with a coach (by scanning their code or link), your account is linked to them. That coach can see your name, email address, the date you joined, and your workout activity — including your logged workouts, your history, and summary stats such as your number of workouts and last workout. A coach can also assign workouts to you. They see this to train you and are responsible for handling it appropriately. You can leave a coach at any time from the app, or by contacting us.
Messages
NXT includes simple messaging so a coach can message you — one-to-one messages, and announcements sent to their clients. When a message is sent, its content and the identities of the sender and recipients are stored on our backend so the conversation can be delivered and shown. Only the people in a conversation (and the coach who sent an announcement) can read it.
Push notifications
If you allow notifications, we register a push token for your device (via Expo, using Apple’s push service) so we can notify you of new messages from your coach. The token identifies your device for delivery only. You can turn notifications off any time in your device settings.
For coaches
If you use NXT Coach, we store your account email, your coaching details (such as its name and a join code), your subscription status, and how many client spaces you have. Through the app you can view your clients’ information as described above. You must have a lawful basis to invite people and must handle their information responsibly and in line with applicable law. Where you decide how your clients’ data is used, you act as a data controller for that data.
Purchases
NXT offers a one-time lifetime purchase; NXT Coach is a subscription. Payments are processed by Apple — we never see or receive your payment-card details. We use RevenueCat to manage and validate purchases and subscriptions; it receives your App Store transaction information and an app-user identifier in order to determine your entitlement.
Analytics
To understand how the apps are used and improve them, we collect anonymous product-usage analytics — events such as opening the app, starting or finishing a workout, and viewing the purchase screen, along with your app version. This is tied to a random per-install identifier, not to your name, email, or any advertising identifier, and is never used for advertising or cross-app tracking. We process it using PostHog. You can turn it off any time in Settings › Privacy inside the app.
What we don’t do
- No advertising, ad identifiers, or cross-app tracking.
- No selling or sharing of your personal data for advertising.
- No access to your contacts, location, photos, microphone, or Apple Health data.
Third-party services
Depending on how you use the apps, data may be handled by:
- Apple — App Store, purchases, subscriptions, and push delivery.
- RevenueCat — purchase and subscription management and validation.
- Supabase — account, access, messages, and (when you are signed in) workout-activity storage.
- Expo — delivery of push notifications.
- PostHog — anonymous product-usage analytics (opt-out in the app).
Each provider’s own privacy policy governs the data they process.
Data retention
We keep account and synced data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, entitlements, coach relationship, messages, and synced workout data. Local data on your device is removed when you reset data or delete the app.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at the address below and we’ll help.
Children
The apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
